My work focuses on education and welfare policies, and on how public services are designed and experienced. I am particularly interested in how these systems shape inequality, social mobility, and people’s sense of fairness.
I am currently leading the ERC-funded project EDUMERIT, which explores how parents’ experiences with school choice shape their views on fairness, merit, and inequality. Alongside this, I am part of the ERC research network WelfareExperiences, the Estonian Centre of Excellence in Well-Being Sciences, and contribute to the development of the IMO research infrastructure.
You can find more information about these projects in the Research section.
Outside of academia, together with my partner I enjoy following our three daughters as they grow into independent individuals, and escaping to my real home on Hiiumaa as much as possible during the warmer months.
